Australian soprano Miriam Allan was one of four singers in Prince Philip’s funeral choir – ABC News

There was an Australian among the small number of people allowed in St George’s Chapel for the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh.

An Australian singer played a key role during the funeral of Prince Philip as the royal family mourned the loss of the United Kingdom’s longest-serving consort. 

  • The choir for Prince Philip’s funeral had just four singers, as COVID-19 restrictions limited the number of people allowed in the chapel
  • Australian Soprano Miriam Allan was one of the singers, joining three of St George’s Chapel’s regular singers 
  • Born in Newcastle, Ms Allen has travelled the world performing in choirs and operas
