⛰️ Katoomba’s ‘Orphan Rock’ ⛰️ It’s said this beautiful rock formation in NSW’s Blue Mountains was named ‘Orphan Rock’ in the 1880s because of its isolation. Visitors used to be able to climb the rock using a set of steps and ladders. Now, the track has been closed for safety reasons, but can still be seen from the operating cable cars and lookouts.
