New National Art Competition Seeks Rural Entries

Founder of the National Capital Art Prize Bob Stephens believes some of Australia’s best artists live in its regional and remote communities.

With 2021 being the first year of the competition, Bob is requesting involvement from these regional artists and made an effort to reach out to attract the artists of the Yass Valley.

Bob saw a need within the Australian art industry, for art competitions that are welcoming of all across the country and that reward the various skill sets of Australian artists.

“There is a need for a major National art prize that encompasses the whole of Australia.”

“This was a great opportunity and a great base to do it from,” he said.
